‘Cuchera’ US premiere in Cleveland

Filipino filmmaker Joseph Israel Laban’s “Cuchera” will have its US premiere at the 36th Cleveland (Ohio) International Film Festival to be held from March 22 to April 1.

The fest website describes the indie film as “a revealing window into the harsh reality of … drug trafficking … a piercing drama that will shockingly bring you up close and personal with a very real issue.”

“Cuchera,” starring Maribel Lopez, will have its theatrical run in Manila this month. Bayani San Diego Jr.
