Landmark show for Basil Valdez

By:

VALDEZ. Timeless tunes.

BASIL Valdez, Rachelle Ann Go and The Company topbill the landmark production, “Seasons of Love,” on Feb. 13 at the Newport Perfoming Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila.

Basil made his mark as the lead vocalist of the Circus Band in the ’70s. His solo career produced hits that have become popular standards. Songs like “Ngayon at Kailanman” (his signature song), “Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan,” “Kastilyong Buhangin” and “Ngayon,” were written by the late George Canseco. These are songs that the singer describes as “pinagtibay ng panahon.”

He shares:  “Wherever I perform, the audience will never let me go unless I sing ‘Ngayon at Kailanman,’ which for them has become sort of a ‘national anthem.’ It’s a must in my repertoire!”

Love songs will also soar to new heights as Rachelle Ann breathes life into her hits, which include “Don’t Cry Out Loud,” “Bakit” and “If You Go Away.”

As for The Company, their latest release is an acapella version of “Pagdating ng Panahon” with Basil—one of the many highlights of the “Seasons of Love” concert. Musical director is Marvin Querido.
