I prefer classics to modern books. Older books are timeless. I like reading about the past. I often try to put myself in the situations of the characters in a novel. I loved JD Salinger’s “The Catcher in the Rye” because it tackles real situations that confront the youth. It opened my eyes to the different emotions that other young people go through. I also enjoyed Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s “Love in the Time of Cholera” because it painted such a detailed picture of Latin American society at that point in the region’s history. Also, the story is quite flavorful, to say the least. Bayani San Diego Jr./ Photo by Richard Reyes
