Vilma Santos mum on Luis Manzano-Jessy Mendiola rumored engagement

Award-winning actress and Batangas 6th District Representative Vilma Santos-Recto is mum on rumors that his son, Kapamilya TV host/actor Luis Manzano is now engaged to his girlfriend, Star Magic talent Jessy Mendiola.
“Hindi pa, hindi naman ako pwede manguna, siyempre sila ang dapat mag-announce hindi ako,” Santos-Recto at the 80th birthday bash last Sunday (August 19) of Regal Films matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde.
(No, I cannot preempt them, of course they would have to make the announcement not me)
“Kung saan maligaya ang anak ko dun ako. (Wherever my son’s happy, I’m with him.) He’s mature enough to decide for himself. Kung sa tingin niya (If he thinks) it’s time then I guess it’s time,” she added.
She however confirms that the two are talking about marriage. “Nagsasabi naman pero sila naman ang magsasabi nun hindi naman ako,”
(They’ve been talking to me about it but of course, they should announce it not me)
The happy couple also has her blessing, the actress said.
“Ever since naman oo ( yes they have my blessing) kasi (because) I can see naman na they’re both happy,” she said.
Should the wedding between her son and the actress finally happens, she said she will definitely have mixed emotions about it.
“Oo naman di ko nga alam iiyak ba ko di ko alam ang pakiramdam,” she said.
(Of course I will be happy [but] I wouldn’t know if I would cry or even what to feel)
Santos also reminded the couple that the entire relationship period is a period of adjustment.
“No such thing as adjustment period. The whole time of the relationship is adjustment,” she said.
Just recently, Manzano uploaded a video on his Instagram stories showing him and Mendiola talking about wedding themes. This started rumors that the two may have been already engaged. /muf
