Cheer Factor: ‘Halaw’ goes to Oxford

Filipino filmmaker Sheron Dayoc’s “Halaw: Ways of the Sea” is one of 10 movies to be shown at the 10th Oxford Brookes University Human Rights Film Festival. Films from Asia, Africa, the Americas, Europe and the Middle East will be screened at the fest, which will run from February 27 to March 2 in the United Kingdom. “Halaw” was chosen for “tackling the theme of exploitation and human trafficking.” Dayoc was one of the honorees in the 2nd Inquirer Indie Tribute.
