It was such a breeze working with Zoren Legaspi in the defunct talk show, “Paparazzi.” Coolness is in everything he does.

The most memorable episode was when Zoren did a one-on-one interview with BB Gandanghari (formerly Rustom Padilla, the ex-husband of his wife Carmina). That’s how game Zoren is.

Now, he is all revved up for his new drama series on GMA 7, “Kapag Nahati ang Puso” (airs Monday to Friday on the morning block). Zoren just keeps soaring.

FEATURED STORIES

Here’s my chat with Zoren:

Tell us about your new series and your role. It’s about bitter rivalries. I portray the love interest of Sunshine Cruz’s character, but I end up marrying someone I don’t love, played by Bing Loyzaga.

Since you work with beautiful women, how do you stay away from temptation? Temptation will always be there. I just have the willpower to say no. I ask myself: What will the consequence be if I give in? A moment of pleasure could lead to a lifetime of regret.

What makes your marriage with Mina work? She totally gets me, and I totally get her. We’re willing to adjust when necessary.
For instance, there are things I don’t exactly like to do, but if it makes Mina happy, then I do them.

How do you and Mina handle differences? Just by the tone of each other’s voice, we already know when we’re dead serious about something. We respect each other’s diskarte in the various “departments” of our family life. Give and take.

What’s the craziest thing that you and Mina have done together? We aren’t the adventurous type. Mina is a little paranoid, so we don’t do daring stuff like skydiving, etc. In movies, I’m game to step out of my comfort zone. But in real life, I won’t even ride a roller-coaster.

How would you convince bachelors who are afraid of marriage to finally settle down? Make sure you find the right girl because it’s hard to get stuck with the wrong one.

What advice did you give your twins, Cassy and Mavy, about show biz? To take their job seriously. To know their weak points so they will become better artists.

Actors are known to fall in love with their screen partners. I reminded my kids that they didn’t enter the biz to find a boyfriend/girlfriend. Love should be at the bottom of their list.

How would you handle it if Mavy gets someone pregnant or Cassy gets pregnant? Heaven forbid (laughs)! But that’s a remote possibility. Mina and I have warned them about temptations and how to handle them.

If it happens, I’ll just have to accept it. I’ll turn the situation around into something positive. Although I still can’t imagine myself becoming a lolo (laughs).

What do Julia Barretto, Nadine Lustre, Bela Padilla, Alice Dixson, Yayo Aguila, Eula Valdes, Angel Locsin, Sarah Lahbati, Janella Salvador, Barbie Forteza and Andrea Torres have in common?
