Netizens tell Alden Richards, Maine Mendoza: ‘AlDub pa rin’
Pambansang Bae Alden Richards has clarified that his onscreen partnership with breakout star Maine Mendoza is not yet over.
In an interview for his upcoming fantasy TV series “Victor Magtanggol,” Alden said, “hindi pa po tapos and AlDub.”
“Hindi naman po, sa EB [Eat Bulaga] naman po parang bumalik lang kami dun sa ginagawa namin before na si Maine po sa barangay ako po sa broadway kumbaga chill lang po kami dun hindi naman po sa nabawasan yung sweetness,” Alden said during a media conference on July 23.

A week earlier, on July 16, Alden posted a photo of himself and Maine, saying “Happy 3rd Anniversary, maraming salamat po sa lahat ng mga patuloy na nagmamahal sa amin. #ALDUB”

AlDub phenomenon
The phenomenal onscreen couple mark July 16, 2015 as the official day when their tandem started on the “Kalyeserye” segment of the variety show “Eat Bulaga.”
The love team’s name AlDub was coined from the names of their characters on Kalyeserye: “Alden” and “Yaya Dub” (Maine).
The two stars now each have their solo projects.
“We’re able to do more, hindi na-stuck as a pair na we’re learning as individuals and then eventually, we’ll learn and experience new things again,” Alden said.
Still, he apologized for disappointing the fans who still want to see them together.
“We want to apologize because a certain need or demand was not met siguro that’s why ganun yung reaksyon nila,” Alden said. /vvp
