Vice Ganda grateful as Dantes, Gutierrez get cast in his MMFF entry
Kapamilya comedian Vice Ganda is just too overwhelmed that her cast request for her movie “Fantastica” was granted. For the first time ever, she will be doing a riot comedy movie with ace leading men Dingdong Dantes and Richard Gutierrez.
An official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival 2018, Vice Ganda veers aways from the superhero genre and leaps into the fairytale fantasy storyline.
“Ako si Fantastica, wala naman akong masyadong powers pero meron lang akong mga espesyal na mga kakayahan pero hindi yung powers as a super hero talaga,” he said at the story conference for the movie on Friday at Star Cinema.
(I am Fantastica, I don’t have special powers but I do have special abilities but agian not of the superhero kind)
As always, he will have colorful, splashy costumes.
As he has mostly worked with some of the biggest names in showbiz, two of the most iconic leading men still haven’t been part of his movies yet. And so with this, he boldly requested for Dantes and Gutierrez to be with him this time for his festival entry.
“Tinanong kasi nila ko kung sino ‘yung mga request, syempre kinapalan ko na yung mukha ko, humiling ako ng dalawa ibinigay naman, meron akong Richard Gutierrez at Dingdong Dantes this year,” he said.
(They asked me who I wanted to be with this time. Of course, I told them my preference, I requested for the two and they gave them to me, so now I have Richard Gutierrez and Dingdong Dantes.)
“Si Chard kasi magkumpare kami, magkaibigan talaga kami ni Chard, si Dong naman nakakausap ko siya nagkakabiruan na gawa naman tayo ng movie,” he added.
(I’ve known Chard for long, he’s always been a friend, Dong on the other hand, there were occasions that we’ve talked and joked that we do a movie)
“First time magkakasama ‘yung dalawa sa pelikula at ako yung kasama nila kaya exciting lalo. Game at all out din sila kasi bago sa kanila ito eh. Sabi nila first time namin gagawa ng comedy tapos kasama ka namin kaya tulong-tulong tayo,” he said.
(This is the first time that the two will work on a movie together and I will be with them. They’re game and all out because this is new to them. They said this will be the first time they will do comedy and I’m with them so we’ll all help each other out.)
Also included in the cast are Maymay Entrata, Edward Barber, Donny Pangilinan, Loisa Andalio, Ronnie Alonte, Jaclyn Jose and many others.
The cast starts shooting on July 17.
