Kris Aquino says no to Senate bid: ‘Powerful people would want to poison me’

Her fans are aware of just how vast Kris Aquino’s influence goes, going beyond the entertainment industry and as far out into the arena of politics. After all, it’s not everyday when a personality can say he or she has gotten the President apologize to her after being trifled with, or have a senator vouch for her for the 2019 Senatorial bid.
Only Aquino, so far, can say she’s done all these. But despite being welcomed by Senator Bam Aquino to join the opposition slate, Kris has since declared that she would not be running for Senator in 2019.
Aquino clarified this once more when she had a free for all question-and-answer on her Instagram last July 1, where her fans had the chance to ask her whatever question they pleased.
A certain Alex (@atty_alex) was found asking Aquino, “Do you want to run in senatorial? Why and why not po? Ano pa dreams na hindi pa natutupad?”
The question was asked after Aquino answered the last question for her Q&A, but she decided to answer the netizen’s question anyway.
“@atty_alex you get the P.S. (postscript). The Senate — NO. My mom said I was too used to having the spotlight solo — so I would worry everyday that 23 other very powerful people would want to poison me,” Aquino replied.

Meanwhile, when it came to her dreams, Aquino shared that they are all falling into place. She also said that one of her goals after retiring from the spotlight is to have a “bed & breakfast.”
“The 1 ‘retirement’ from the spotlight goal is to have a 19 bedroom Bed & Breakfast — all w/ individually designed & curated rooms, w/ a restaurant serving all the comfort food my mom taught me to make & i tweaked to be more ‘Kris’,” said Aquino.
Aquino was specific, too, when it came to the specifics of her bed and breakfast, adding that she wants it to include afternoon and early evening sessions of her favorite activities.
“A book club, listening to acoustic music, learning about essential oils & healing gem stones, binge watching series I like & discovering new ones, scripture based soul enriching sessions, and creative writing workshops,” she said.
At this point, running for the Senate may just be the farthest thing from Aquino’s mind. Perhaps a Kris Aquino Book Club or a Chakra Healing Stones Workshop is more feasible? JB
