LOOK: Jennica Garcia mixes own placenta in smoothie

Jennica Garcia is staying true to her advocacy of natural parenting.
The actress was proud to show off her newborn daughter, which she described as “our little angel.” She also shared an interesting story in her Instagram post today, June 27, about her placenta.
Garcia shared photos of her baby, with “sister placenta” still connected. She revealed that the baby was delivered through a full lotus birth, where the umbilical cord is left uncut until it naturally separates from the umbilicus, which usually takes three to ten days.

In a second photo, her husband Alwyn Uytingco can be seen holding what looks like a pink smoothie. But the actor’s drink apparently has a special ingredient: a small piece of the placenta.
“To my surprise, my husband, drank two sips from my smoothie before handing it over to me!” Garcia gushed. “Kaya siguro mahal na mahal ko ang asawa ko. Alam kong naiintindihan at suportado niya ako, gaano man ka-iba ang nais kong tahakin na landas.” (Maybe that’s why I love my husband so much. I know he understands and supports me, no matter how different the path I want to take may be.)
She said she opted to have a sweet time drinking her smoothie and enjoyed every moment of it, and added, “We even kept a few more pieces in the freezer to be able to make more for later.”
Garcia is not the only one who believes that eating placenta has benefits. Reality star Kim Kardashian revealed that she too tried consuming her placenta, but hers was dried up and made into a capsule.
She and Uytingco welcomed their second child on Monday, June 25. The baby follows their firstborn Mori, who’s about to turn 3 years old this July. JB
