Nichkhun, Alexander Lee surprise Ciara Sotto with ‘gentleman gesture’

K-drama lovers can only dream of the day a handsome Korean man would do a gentlemanly feat capable of making them swoon. Lucky Ciara Sotto, however, got the chance to experience this rare occurrence in the hands of not one, but two K-pop stars, Nichkhun and Alexander Lee, during the press conference for the second season of tvN Asia’s “One Night Food Trip — International Edition”, held at the City of Dreams on June 22.
During the start of the interview led by the host, Kristine Caballero, Nichkhun was seen signing something to the nearby staff. He appears to be asking for some kind of cloth to cover one’s body. Not long after, a staff came up the stage and handed a green shawl to Lee.

Lee then folded the shawl and just when one would think he would be donning it himself to fight the shivers, he went to put it on top of Sotto’s legs.
Sotto, who was wearing a chic black and white dress, was startled by the gesture. “Are you single?” she jokingly asked Lee after recovering from her surprise. Nichkhun eagerly replied, saying Lee made it “very clear” that he is “very single” on the show.

Neither of the two K-pop stars explained the reason behind the gesture. However, one can guess that it may either be to keep Sotto’s legs warm or to protect her legs from revealing shots, as the media were taking photos and videos right below the stage.
While the two have been very gentlemanly towards Sotto during the press conference, Lee revealed that it was not the case during the show. Nichkhun and Lee will be facing off with Sotto and her cousin, Danica Sotto-Pingris. Lee promised that it would be hard for the women to eat and win. But the Sottos weren’t one to back down to challenges, as they had given the two K-pop stars, in return, “interesting” utensils for them to eat with.
Lee said that fans would get to see how he and Nichkhun become “a different kind of beast” in the show, at times struggling to finish the food served to them. “Eating was more like an exercise than something you enjoy,” Nichkhun admitted, saying that he had a hard time consuming the huge amounts of food served, since he has a relatively small stomach.
“One Night Food Trip — International Edition” will follow the format of the popular Korean eating variety show. The four contestants will travel in pairs to eat, play and complete missions involving exotic flavors and cultural attractions, all to earn the most number of stamps within 48 hours and bag the coveted Golden Passport.
The four-episode Philippine segment of the second season is slated to air on July 30 at 6:30 p.m. JB
