At 53, Ai-Ai delas Alas is enjoying a newlywed’s life, besides continuing to be a mainstay on television and keeping her humor fresh—and, on top of these, maintaining a fit figure.

The comedian showed off her slim physique in pictures taken eight years apart, one in 2010 and a recent one this year. In both pictures, Delas Alas confidently posed in a black lingerie.

Inferness naman napakadaming dulot na ganda ang pagkain ng organic (In fairness, eating organic has brought a lot of good),” she noted.

Salamat sa organic no meat no dairies no carb kong diet (Thank you to my organic, no-meat, no-dairies, no-carb diet),” she said, adding that television director Louie Ignacio would tease her for her “wala kong ka kwenta kwentang pagkain (worthless food).”

However, she admitted that she would still have junk food if it weren’t for her illnesses, which include psoriasis, vertigo and asthma.

“Dun pa din ako sa normal na food ang sarap kaya ng halo halo, pizza pie, spaghetti, fried chicken, coke, tsitsirya (cheese curls + chippy).”

(I would still have eaten delicious normal food—halo-halo, pizza pie, spaghetti, fried chicken, Coke, chips.)

It seems to be for the best that she has given these tasty but unhealthy foods: Thanks to her strict diet, she doesn’t suffer from her sicknesses anymore.

She also left words of wisdom: “Life is short… you can make it shorter.”

Celebrities and fans were awed with Delas Alas’ discipline. In the comments section, she went into detail about how her restrictive diet worked and how it has benefited her. She explained that she only eats chicken twice a month, continues to eat fish, has no fried food or sugar, and eats gluten-free.

She mentioned that she no longer takes medication for her conditions and that her psoriasis cleared up on its own.

When actor Jay Gonzaga marveled at how expensive it must be to eat organic, Delas Alas said, “Pareho lang pag naoospital ako hehe (It’s the same cost if I get hospitalized).”

One Instagram user, @artknack said she also suffered from psoriasis and that Delas Alas served as her inspiration.

Kaya mo yan basta isipin mo na lang kakabathing suit ka hehehe (You can do it, just imagine that you’ll be able to wear a bathing suit),” the actress encouraged.

In February 2017, Delas Alas revealed that psoriasis had been a lifelong battle since she was 15. Her flare-ups would prevent her from wearing sleeveless outfits and she constantly had to take medication.

When the medicine stopped being effective, she researched about changing her diet. Back then, she proudly declared losing 27 pounds, thanks to her healthier lifestyle.  /ra
