KC Concepcion on her two dads — ‘main man’ Kiko and ‘first love’ Gabby

KC Concepcion paid homage to two of the most important men in her life, dad Senator Kiko Pangilinan and biological dad Gabby Concepcion, on Father’s Day yesterday, June 17. Despite the prickly words mom Sharon Cuneta had for ex-husband Gabby last May, it seems the tiff did nothing to dampen nor taint the way KC holds the two men in her lives in high regard.
Her first post was addressed to Pangilinan, sharing a black-and-white candid photo of the two of them having wine together and smiling. “The side people rarely see,” wrote KC. “When he’s not slaying dragons, he’s with the girls giving love advice.”
“Thank you to the main man of our lives, the one who taught me how to use a dictionary, budget my money, plan ahead [and] be organized,” said KC.

“Long nights of talking, communicating, spending quality time became a REALITY with you,” added KC. Her mom Sharon and biological dad Gabby separated just after two years into their marriage, leading KC to look up to the senator as her second father.
KC also called Pangilinan an “authoritarian” who was before very strict, but is now “a warm dad [and] close friend. Thank you for giving me confidence. And making me feel that I am enough.”
KC, too, did not forget her other dad, her actual father Gabby, as she greeted him in a separate Instagram post made yesterday as well.
In the picture, KC is seen sandwiched between Gabby and her grandmother, Baby Arellano.
“I will always be thankful for the ways you record memories, remind me of the who’s who in our family tree, tell me stories [and] remind me of my roots,” wrote KC.

KC further wrote that she always looks forward to her “endless” late-night conversations with Gabby, where she talks until he eventually falls asleep. “Yes you, because I’m a night owl and can go on til the sun rises, but you never cut me off,” she teased.
She sweetly closed, “Perhaps to make up for all the lost time all the years we were apart. To the first man I ever loved.” JB
