Actress Sofia Andres has decided to take it slow and go off the radar, a decision that perhaps had many of her followers concerned for the familiar face now much-missed on the screen. Andres was last seen in the ABS-CBN fantasy series “Bagani,” ending her stint just last April after her character “Mayari” was killed off after being struck by lightning by the evil deity Sarimaw.

Her struggles with anxiety and fear of rejection may be a factor in her decision to lie low, as she admitted last May that she had taken measures to see a therapist and undergo counseling.

Andres took to her Twitter yesterday to address her absence in the television screen. “Okay, so I think many of you are looking for me on screen. I have decided to lie low for a month,” Andres explained. “It’s good to be focusing & loving yourself when you know you are slowly losing yourself from pushing it too hard.”

She added, “I learned a lot of things, to appreciate more, to be more positive.”

In a subsequent tweet, Andres also spoke about turning down projects in the past as she wasn’t ready to give her all just yet. Regardless, she is still grateful to everyone who supports her, especially those who never admitted defeat in their battle with anxiety.

“I have declined blessings that was [sic] offered to me because I think I’m not ready yet, I’m not ready to give my all yet but hopefully soon. I’m really trying my best. Thank you for those who have been so supportive and for those who never give up w their anxiety.”

Despite these bouts of personal setbacks, however, Andres continues to have faith in the future as she has coupled her blind spots with self-reflection and a kindling hope.

“I can’t wait for the time to love again,” wrote Andres. “To love something, to love someone without worrying, & without overthinking. I wish I could stop everything all the negative thoughts but we are not our anxiety. We are strong, we are fine.”  /ra
