One night in April 2012, Axl Rose, the lead vocalist of hard rock band Guns N’ Roses, was accosted by paparazzi as he was stepping out of a posh hotel in Los Angeles.

“Any chance you guys are doing a reunion tour with a full lineup in the future?” he was asked.

“Not in this lifetime,” the singer said, dismissively, as he got inside a car.

But things do change within a lifetime, it turns out.

Four years later, Guns N’ Roses announced that it was embarking on a new world tour. And while it doesn’t feature the iconic group’s original lineup, former members guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan—whom Axl last performed with in 1993—rejoined the gang to fill in the spots left open by the departure of guitarists DJ Ashba and Ron Thal, and bassist Tommy Stinson, in 2014.

Now, Guns N’ Roses is set to perform in the Philippines for the first time, as part of the Asian and 10th leg of its “Not in This Lifetime” world tour. The band will take the stage on Nov. 11 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

Tickets to the one-night show—produced by MMI Live and Prestige Worldwide—will go on sale on June 9 via Ticketworld and SM Tickets (call 8919999 or 4702222).

Members of the Guns N’ Roses Fan Club, on the other hand, will have an exclusive opportunity to book their seats a day ahead of schedule through the same ticketing outlets.

Based on the band’s set lists in the previous legs, Guns N’ Roses is expected to dish out more than 30 songs, including its biggest hits, “Sweet Child o’ Mine,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Paradise City” and “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.” —ALLAN POLICARPIO
