Luis Manzano, Ramon Bautista encourage man rejected from job interview for being bisexual

When a netizen lamented that he was turned down from a job because of his sexual orientation, celebrities Luis Manzano and Ramon Bautista swooped in to give him a virtual pat on the back.
An AMA university student named King Carl Montante shared via Twitter on May 17 that prior to a job interview, the recruiter of a Pasay hotel turned him down for being bisexual.

“Anong connection ng pagiging bisexual ko sa position that I’m applying for?” Montante asked. (What’s the connection between being bisexual and the position I’m applying for?)
He also related in another tweet that the human resources (HR) staff grilled him with personal questions on his sexuality and that he wasn’t even granted a proper interview.
“Actually hindi na nga po nila ako hinayaan ma interview ng formal. Ang unang tanong po agad nya sakin “Straight ka ba? Kailan mo naramdaman na ganyan ka? Ilan naging bf/gf mo? May plano kapa ba mag gf? Tapos ang ending sabi nya sige hindi na kita interview.”
(Actually s/he didn’t let me have a formal interview. The first question was “Are you straight? When did you feel that you were that way? How many boyfriends and girlfriends have you had? Do you plan to have a girlfriend?” Then in the end s/he said, “I won’t interview you anymore.”)
Comedian Ramon Bautista tweeted Montante: “Sino dyan HR ng hotel, bigyan nyo nga ng chance ito si papi Carl maipakita ang galing, sipag at dedication nya sa trabaho.”

Luis Manzano thumbed down discrimination in his tweet to Montante. “You’ll find a better one,” he said.

Manzano’s mother, Representative Vilma Santos has pushed for a bill to create LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) help desks in police precincts.
An anti-discrimination bill (House Bill 4982) to address issues of the LGBT community was passed on its final reading in Congress last September. If passed to law, discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity or expression (SOGIE) will be illegal, and punishment could include jail time. JB
