“Last time po, naging emotional ako dahil nag-panic po ako. Kasi po walang tulog, tapos parang nawala yung boses ko,” Geronimo revealed.

(I was emotional last time because I panicked. I had no sleep and I lost my voice.)

Sabi ko, ‘Lord!’ Pero naalala ko siyempre ang journey ko, humble beginnings natin, pinagdaanan. Tsaka siyempre, lahat po tayo may battle sa buhay. So nagpatong-patong na po,” she explained of her teary confession in the Las Vegas show.

(I thought, “Lord!” But I remembered my journey, our humble beginnings, what we’ve gone through. And of course, we all have our battles in life. These all piled up.)

Pero, wala pong iyakan ngayon. Bawal (But now there are no more tears. It’s not allowed),” she said, receiving laughs from the crowd.

Pangit. Nanu-news tayo eh. Naba-bash tayo masyado (It’s not good. We get into the news, we get bashed too much),” she quipped.

She shared her reaction to some criticisms, particularly about those which say that she is taking her opportunities for granted: “Huwag nang ganoon. Akala n’yo inarte ako, binigay na nga sa ‘kin ‘to, inarte pa ako. Mawawala din ito ano so hanggang mayroon, go lang!

(Let’s not do that. You think I’m being dramatic, that I was given this and I’m being dramatic. This will all go away so while it’s here, I’ll keep going.)

Geronimo reflected on an existential crisis she has had on the success she has attained, and what she wants more in life. She said that she has wondered about what else could fulfill her, aside from singing and acting.

The pop princess said she found the answer to those questions in a piece of important advice, which drew cheers from her audience: “‘Sarah, bakit ka naghahanap ng iba? Yun ang binigay ng Diyos sa ‘yo. Gamitin mo ang platform to glorify his name and to give blessing to other people.’”

(Sarah, why are you looking for something else? This is what God gave you. Use your platform to glorify his name and to give blessing to other people.)

She also mentioned her apprehensions in performing in the United States and expressed her gratitude towards fans.

“15 years po — hindi ko po akalain na, alam n’yo po, takot akong bumalik dito sa States. Kasi baka walang pumunta, walang manood. So grabe po itong pagtanggap ninyo. Maraming maraming salamat,” she said.

(It’s been 15 years — I didn’t realize that I’d be afraid to go back to the States. Because maybe no one would go or watch. That’s why this reception is great. Thank you so much.)

After her breakdown, which she admitted was due to fatigue, the singer-actress has received an outpouring of support from fans and celebrities. Geronimo has still powered through and is making her last stop on the U.S. tour in New York on May 6. JB
