A new hero will rise to fight the oppressors.

Through a trailer released today, May 2, fans get a glimpse of what Paulo Avelino will be like as he plays the role of Gen. Gregorio del Pilar in the much-anticipated film “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral”.

Set during the days after Gen. Antonio Luna was killed, the story follows journalist Joven Villaflor (Arron Villaflor) who in turn follows del Pilar on his quest to crush the impending American colonization of the Philippines. The trailer shows how his fellow soldiers counted on del Pilar to win the war.

The video also teased how the young general was a ladies’ man. Still, del Pilar only had eyes for one woman, who will be played by Gwen Zamora.

With Jerrold Tarog returning to the director’s seat, catch how Avelino will bring the legendary general’s story to life when it hits theaters Sept. 5. JB
