Nathalie Emmanuel

English actress Nathalie Emmanuel, who plays interpreter Missandei in “Game of Thrones,” posted on Instagram an image of an offensive tweet she received early last week.

“Not really the kind [of] post you want to put out at the start of a new week. Also not here to preach … but [in case] anyone was wondering what having to deal with regular misogyny and racism is like, here you go.”

In the screencapped image, a Twitter user, whose name Emmanuel blotted out, told her to “Go back to Africa, you black c**t.”

The actress put several hashtags to her upload, including #f**kracism #f**kthisguytho #racismisreal. Her enraged fans commented in no time, many of them expressing support, but also wondering why she removed the hater’s name.

She tweeted, “Thanks for the support, guys. Obviously reported the guy. People keep asking why I didn’t show his name. Sometimes, giving a person like this attention, good or bad, is exactly what they want. I’m not [trying to] give him any more shine beyond showing people [that] this s**t is happening.”

The actress, who also appeared in two “The Fast and the Furious” films, is the daughter of a Dominican mother and a half-Saint Lucian, half-English father.—OLIVER PULUMBARIT
