Sharon Cuneta to husband Kiko: ‘Everyone promised me love forever, only you seem to have kept it’

Last week was a tough time for Megastar Sharon Cuneta. She recently underwent surgery to remove a lipoma on the back of her neck. Her newly-renewed friendship with ex-husband Gabby Concepcion, too, had soured. They both unfollowed each other on Instagram over the weekend and this is after more than a month of playful banter, as well as a Valentine’s McDonald’s commercial that had the wildest of ShaGab fans clamoring for another movie.
But Cuneta, who seems as she if already has it all, also has her bad days. Followers, however, saw a more hopeful and peaceful Cuneta last night, based on her Instagram post where she spoke lovingly of her husband Senator Kiko Pangilinan and her children.
“Before I go to sleep, just thought I’d share with you a few of the many things I love about my family,” started Cuneta. “When Kiko and I are alone abroad when I wake up, you probably won’t be able to image my husband asking me, ‘Sweetheart, you want coffee?’ And because he knows I want to say yes even if I answer ‘Yes Dada, but later na lang it’s okay’ — he’ll get up and make me a cup of coffee.”
Cuneta also spoke dearly of her thoughtful kids, who would always think of her well-being. “My Miel naman will sometimes ask me even on a normal day, ‘Mama, do you want me to put food on your plate for you? And Miguel will always ask me, ‘Mama can I carry your laptop for you?’ And when I say no thank you my love, he’ll still ask ‘Mama is there anything I can do for you?’”
Meanwhile, daughter Frankie would always reach out to her via text, regardless if it’s a profession of love or just something mundane. “My Kakie will always still text me anything — whether it’s kwento or just to say she loves and misses me.
Cuneta’s heartfelt anecdotes seemed to have tugged on husband Kiko’s heartstrings, as he commented on his wife’s post, saying, “Because after all is said and done only love conquers all.”

The simple gesture had fans gushing, and it didn’t take long for Cuneta to reply to her beloved. “@kiko.pangilinan Yes Sutart (sweetheart). Everyone promised me love forever. Only you seem to have kept it. I love you.”
Perhaps sometimes what is needed is a break from the outside world, only because it nourishes one’s inner life, and such seems to be working for Cuneta, who feels so blessed with the presence of her family: “I love being closed off from the rest of the world and just being with the people I love. People say so many things about him [Kiko], about us… but all I can do is wish them what I have everyday.” JB
