LOOK: Isabelle Daza reminisces about dad Bong with sentimental post

Isabelle Daza only has four weeks before she welcomes her baby into the world, but it seems the approaching moment also has Daza feeling melancholy. She took to Instagram last night and shared on her Instagram Stories a throwback picture of her with her father, the late Gabriel “Bong” Daza III, a food entrepreneur and former Makati City councilor, who passed away in 2016.
The photo shows Isabelle atop a motorcycle with dad Bong behind to guide her. “Would have been my dad’s 67th birthday today. Been stopping myself from crying all day. Keeping myself busy. Finally gave in,” reminisced Daza. “Had this huge lump in my throat, thinking he wouldn’t meet my baby. Regret is such a painful thing, but at the same time it’s teaching me to build better relationships.”

Isabelle also shared a picture of something her dad wrote on social media five years ago when he was still alive. “Death is nothing at all,” wrote Bong on his Facebook account. “I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other…”
Despite being caught in her reveries, Isabelle also shared happy moments of her with her dad before his demise. She shared a throwback picture of her mom Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz with her dad Bong standing right next to her. Diaz was wearing a long black dress with a turquoise belt while Bong wore a striped blue-and-white shirt, jacket, white jacket and gray pants as they both stared into the camera.

Isabelle also shared another photo of her parents, this time taken at a later date; it was during the time her dad Bong was already undergoing treatment in the hospital. Bong can be seen lying down in the hospital bed while mom Gloria sat beside him.
“Divorce goals,” Isabelle wrote. It is known that Gloria and Bong were only married for 10 years before eventually separating. Still, Gloria did not falter and showed her support to her former-husband by staying by his side until his demise almost two years ago.

Despite losing her father, Isabelle maintains a close relationship with her mom and sister, Ava. Just five days ago on Sunday, the three were seen bonding together in the supermarket Landers in Alabang, Muntinlupa, before watching the fashion show of Bench for its spring-summer 2017 collection. /ra
