As a new mother, Kylie Padilla is still in the process of getting the hang of it. But during her pregnancy, she was like any other mom who had her fair share of struggles and realizations.

The actress realized that indeed “there is a great deal of insecurity once a woman goes through pregnancy,” a thought she shared via an Instagram post yesterday, March 12. “I also wanted to articulate how empowering it is to discover your strengths as a woman, all over again with the intention of getting to know yourself, not to prove anything but to discover that maybe this is who you were all along.”

One example of a struggle she is going through is getting back into shape, which she described as “no eff*ng walk in the park.” She said, “I feel heavier, I am slower than I used to be and my stomach, no matter how much pain or how much I push myself is flabby from carrying and creating my baby.”

Lets get some truths out there. * there is a great deal of insecurity once a woman goes through pregnancy. I just wanted to say. I suffer from this because what human doesn’t but I also wanted to articulate how empowering it is to discover your strengths as a woman, all over again with the intention of getting to know yourself, not to prove anything but to discover that maybe this is who you were all along. Getting back into shape for example, is no effing walk in the park. I feel heavier, I am slower than I used to be and my stomach, no matter how much pain or how much I push myself is flabby from carrying and creating my baby. I have a goal, I have an image of who I want to be but these little things, these little imperfections teach me to appreciate what may not be beautiful to society, but beautiful because they are battle scars of how my body sacrificed it’s youth and tightness for housing a little miracle, little baby Alas. All it takes now is determination and a battle with the mind to never let these insecurities become you. After all as I always say, you are more than your physical attributes but you must always strive to be better healthier and (sana) wiser and grow as a human being. Mentally, spiritually and physically. knp *

Although admitting that she has a goal and an image of who she wants to be, she later realized too that her “little imperfections” may not be beautiful to society, but still “beautiful because they are battle scars of how my body sacrificed it’s youth and tightness for housing a little miracle, little baby Alas.”

“All it takes now is determination and a battle with the mind to never let these insecurities become you,” the actress shared to her fans.

Fellow mothers like Padilla thanked her and shared their own stories of pregnancy.
