Atom: Brave, uncompromising ‘Citizen’

Journalist-turned-actor Atom Araullo is looking forward to the premiere of his debut film, Mike de Leon’s “Citizen Jake,” which will have two screenings at the UP Cine Adarna today and on March 13.

Araullo says of De Leon’s comeback movie after an 18-year absence from the scene: “I feel that the film, like its director, is brave and uncompromising when it comes to depicting current realities and our collective failures as a nation. I hope that young people watching this movie will be inspired to look a little deeper at the world around them and perhaps discover their place in all of it.” —BAYANI SAN DIEGO JR.
