Love should not just be mushy. It should also be fun. What funnier way could there be to cap off the Valentine month than by watching Viva Films’ rom-com, “Amnesia Love”? It stars Paolo Ballesteros and Yam Concepcion, and opens on Feb. 28.

In line with the movie’s title, allow me to share my post-V-Day thought: Love can cause amnesia because we tend to forget our selfworth when we love someone too much. When that happens, it’s time to exorcise him/her from our system lest we selfdestruct.

FEATURED STORIES

What chapter of your life would you want to forget? I don’t want to forget anything. I’ve always believed that everything in life has a reason and a purpose. It’ll all make sense in the end. That’s why I am thankful for all the experiences in the past that have made me who I am today.

What did you find out about Paolo while shooting your movie? He’s simple, down to earth, and he loves Red Horse beer.

Which would you choose: love without sex or sex without love? Neither. I prefer true love with good sex.

What are some of your “ganda” problems? Due to the makeup requirements as an actress, my skin breaks out often. I wish I didn’t have to wear makeup onscreen, but it’s part of the job.

What’s the best love advice you’ve heard? Be with someone who brings out the best in you. A relationship can make you a better person if it is with the right one.

What do you find hard to understand about men? It’s more like men finding it hard to understand women when we have our period (laughs).

Would you make the first move if you like a guy? Sure. Why not?

What’s one fantasy you want to fulfill this year? A trip to Iceland.

Best of both worlds

When I had dinner with my BFF Cesar Montano at Alta in Ascott Hotel, he was raving about the Corporate Governance Orientation Program for Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations by the Institute of Corporate Directors. Like a high school kid, he proudly showed me his certificate of attendance.

As Tourism Promotions Board chief, he’s willing to learn more and more as he goes along.

But, Buboy (his nickname) admits that he misses doing movies. “I bought a special camera so I can shoot minimovies when I travel all over the country and abroad,” he beamed. “That way, I will have the best of both worlds. While doing my duties as TPB chief, I can also pursue my passion as an actor/director when my work for the day is done.”

As if he still does not have his hands full, Buboy wants to organize a symposium about suicide among millennials. He can totally relate with parents who lost their kids through suicide because his son, Angelo, took his own life a few years ago.

“Bullying on social media is a big factor why suicide among the youth is rampant,” he said, sighing. “So, I want to help in my own little way, by giving a talk to enlighten lost kids and grieving parents. I will invite other celebs to share their sentiments, too.”

Kindness is truly in everything that BFF Buboy does.
