WATCH: Natalie Portman out to fight creatures in ‘Annihilation’

Academy Award winner Natalie Portman is set to fight creatures in the science-fiction horror flick “Annihilation.”

In the movie, Portman plays Lena, a biologist and now the wife of a soldier, who got injured after getting back from a mission. It is now Lena’s turn to enter the mysteriously quarantined zone “The Shimmer” to find out what happened to him. As Lena and her team battle out the creatures from the realm, will they be able to survive?

Also part of the cast is Oscar Isaac, Gina Rodriguez and Jennifer Jason Leigh. The film is directed by Alex Garland of “Ex Machina” fame.

“Annihilation” is an adaptation of the 2014 novel by Jeff VanderMeer. It hits theaters today in the US, but will soon be streamed on Netflix starting March 12.  /ra
