Movie Actress of the year for BLISS, 2017. Thank you, PMPC for this honor and recognition! 🏆 Like I said in my speech, in as much as winning an award outside the country is an amazing feat, there is a wonderful sense of joy and accomplishment when you are recognized in your own country for the work you do! Thank you to everyone behind @blissfilmph to our producers Sir Ed Rocha, Sir Nando Ortigas, Sir Ting Nebrida , distributor Atty. Joji Alonso and my beloved Director @jtarog for trusting me with the role of Jane Ciego. Masaya na si Jane! 🤣 I share this with my fellow co-actors and staff/prod in Bliss who did their jobs so well that it made my work easier. Grateful for my team @iamnoelferrer @genmagnovergara, my angels at home and on set, my family @iamdashcalzado @gyankobe Zhan and Queen plus the Calzado, Ussher and Wintle Family and all my friends for the love and support. My #1 cheer leader, @benmwintle, for enduring the mood swings I get when I’m in the zone and VERY tired from work – spank you very much. Much thanks also goes out to @izadoration for being such a solid support group. To my mom and dad, you left me too early to witness all of this unfold in my life but you never cease to make me feel that you are still by my side with every step that I take. I am so grateful for your energy. Last but definitely not the least, I offer this to our Lord God Almighty who makes all things possible, I give you back all the glory. Mabuhay! ❤️

Actress Iza Calzado is still on cloud nine after she snagged the PMPC Movie Actress Award of the year for her portrayal of an actress gone mad after an accident in the psychological thriller “Bliss.”

Thanking the movie body for giving her the honor, Calzado said that “in as much as winning an award outside the country is an amazing feat, there is a wonderful sense of joy and accomplishment when you are recognized in your own country for the work you do!” as she posted this gleeful photo of herself holding the award on her Instagram Wednesday.

Not forgetting the people behind the film that catapulted her to get the award, the actress thanked several people and movie director Jerrold Tarog for giving her the starring role of Jane Cariedo.

Also thanking her family and friends, she did not forget her “number one cheerleader” fiancé Ben Wintle “for enduring the mood swings when I get in the zone and VERY tired of work – spank you very much.” She did not forget her fan base “for being a solid support group.”

Calzado could not help but get emotional upon mentioning her late mom and dad. “[Y]ou left me too early to witness all of this unfold in my life but you never cease to make me feel that you are still by my side with every step that I take,” she sentimentally said.

Apart from bagging the PMPC Movie Actress Award, Calzado gained international recognition when she received the Yakushi Pearl Award for best performer in the 12th Osaka Asian Film Festival held in Japan in March 2017.  /ra
