LOOK: Anne Curtis runs 25KM as prep for this year’s London Marathon
Actress and television host Anne Curtis is no stranger when it comes to being a health buff. In fact, she is gearing up for a new physical challenge.
The “It’s Showtime” mainstay posted a selfie on Sunday, where she said she completed her morning run at 25 kilometers, her first in over a year. “Kept it steady and kept telling myself – just don’t walk,” Curtis joked on Twitter.
But her exercise was for another reason — she has set her eyes on joining the London Marathon. “Getting my mileage in for @londonmarathon,” she added in her post.
Warning: ANNOYING SELFIE. – First 25km in over a year! 6:00 pace 👌 Kept it steady and kept telling myself – just don’t walk 😂 Yey! Getting my milage in for the @londonmarathon 🏃🏻♀️ Thanks ninong @kuyakim_atienza 💋 Good Morning!!! #LondonMarathon #LondonMarathANNEventure pic.twitter.com/JmJREaNDsa

Curtis has previously trained for other marathons. She was set to participate in the premier marathon event, Boston Marathon, in February 2017; she cancelled due to conflicting schedules with her noontime show. She said she was “no longer able to run the marathon of her dreams.”
When you get this in your mail but sadly, will no longer be able to run the marathon of your dreams 💔 Unfortunately, my Showtime family did not allow me to leave due to our new rules. Which I understand completely and have to respect and obey… AND since it’s my birthday month I will not allow it to burst my happy bubble. Crossing my fingers and toes I will still be given this opportunity another time. Nonetheless, thank you @chrissportsph for giving me this chance!!! Truly grateful!!!! Will still continue training hard! ❤💔❤ @kuyakim_atienza go kill it for me!!!! 💪🏼 #neverdone #patriotsday #bostonmarathon
But she was able to run in the New York Marathon back in 2016.
I did it! My very first marathon in NYC! What a bucket list moment ✔️ I can’t explain how fulfilling it is when you cross the finish line. It certainly isn’t easy but the whole experience is worth the physical pain. Each borough (there were 5) had a different feel, music and vibe. The spectators are there to cheer you on, give you power up high-fives and push you when you feel like you want to stop. To all the kababayans that were out there today to cheer me on… screaming and some even with posters, Maraming Salamat. ❤️ Nakakaiyak and yan po ang dahilan kung bakit halos hindi nawala ang ngiti ko. After my first… I would like to conquer more! 26.2 or 42.165 dedicated and inspired by the FILIPINO YOUTH and it’s through God’s grace, I FINISHED 🏅🏃🏻♀️🏅 @nycmarathon @unicefphils #NYCmarathANNEventure #ANNEventuresNYC #tcsnycmarathon #nycmarathon2016 #TeamUNICEFph
This year’s London Marathon is slated for April 22. JB
