‘Queen of All Media’ Kris Aquino turns 47 on Valentine’s Day

Kris Aquino marked her 47th birthday today, and on Valentine’s Day too, no less, as she is surprised by her two greatest loves, sons Bimby and Josh, with a singing of the Happy Birthday Song and magenta balloons that spelled the word “Mama”.
In a video shared by Aquino on Instagram four hours ago, Bimby and Josh can be seen entering the hotel room carrying the balloons as they started to sing to Aquino. In the end, Bimby teased his mom, saying the entire surprise cost $76 (almost P4,000).
On the night before her birthday, Aquino shared a blog post to her loyal fans, saying it hasn’t always been the easiest. “You will never read me complain about politics because I was born into a much worse situation, and I know how exhilaration yet fleeting proximity to power is,” wrote Aquino. “I grew up to be unflinchingly REALISTIC about it – in a hole where everything was held together, seemingly effortlessly by my Mom. She had no choice-that was her burden and our salvation.”
Cory Aquino, Kris’ mother and former president of the Philippines was 47 years old too, the same age as Kris now, when they went to Boston to live in exile. Kris said that now, her unquestionable work ethic is no longer a protective coat to erase in her psyche the wrong choices she’s made in the past, but a legacy she wishes to leave for her children.
“So that when Bimb is asked about his Mom he will always be confident in answering that ‘She loves Kuya and me so much that’s why she works so hard,’” shared Kris. “‘But she’s also always there – it’s not like we ever feel that she’s not around even if she’s super busy.’”
Kris also expressed her utmost gratitude to God for giving her sons who appreciate her today and make her look forward to every single tomorrow.

“So now I return a prayer for all of you, that for my birthday in 2019 may my THANK YOU be on behalf of all those who need the gift of God’s underrated Grace,” Kris told her fans. “God bless us all with hearts fulfilled. Please remember as I have the privilege to every day of my life, we are all LOVED.”
