Iza Calzado proud to be ‘daddy’s girl forever’ in tribute to late father’s birthday
Iza Calzado is proud to be a “daddy’s girl forever,” even years after her father had passed on.
The actress took to her Instagram page on Saturday to post a throwback photo of herself giving her late dad, director Lito Calzado, a tight hug. The late director died in November 2011 of liver cancer.
“Just want to publicly greet and pay tribute to my loving father, Lito Calzado, who would have turned 73 years old today if he was not called to the heavens a little too early,” the actress wrote.
Turning sentimental, Calzado admitted that she had been thinking about him the past few months.
“Maybe it’s because I am finally engaged and will be getting married this year – one of his much-awaited moments in life,” Calzado said. She added that it may also be that she misses his “warm embrace and hear his joy filled with laughter.”
“As I make my way to visit his resting place today, I take comfort in knowing his love and energy lives on and will always be with me,” she wrote.
Ending her post, she joked “Ang fresh ko dito.” (I look fresh here.)
Calzado is set to marry her fiancé British entrepreneur Ben Wintle this year, although no exact date has been announced. They have been engaged since October last year. JB
