Maja Salvador revealed that she has been dating a friend from high school, but kept mum on his identity.
“Kabarkada ko naman yun (He’s part of my group of friends) — high school friend, high school classmate. Non-showbiz,” she said in an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal.
She shared that she and the guy have been friends for 15 years. “Kabisado namin ang isa’t isa.” (We know each other very well.)
Compared to dating someone in showbiz, she described the “foundation” of the relationship as different.
“Kung anong nangyayari sa mundo niya, nangyayari sa mundo ko. Maraming napag-uusapan,” she said. (What’s happening in his world is happening in mine. There’s a lot to talk about.)
He is also well-aware of her hectic work schedule and said, “Busy lang din siya. Magkaibigan kami kaya sanay na ‘yun.” (He’s busy too. He’s used to it since we’re friends.)
The actress admitted that she was dating on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” in August 2017.
Salvador was asked if she was seeing “a rich, young entrepreneur.” She simply said, “I’m dating po.” Back then, she said it was too early to tell if they were in a relationship.
She also told show host Boy Abunda that she has been close to the guy’s family.
“Sobrang love ako ng family niya. Siguro kasi matagal na kaming magkaibigan, so ever since parang part na rin ako ng family, since high school pa po eh.” (I’m loved by his family. Maybe it’s because we’ve been friends for so long, so ever since, I’ve been a part of their family, since I was in high school.)
Salvador previously dated Gerald Anderson for two years, until their split in 2015. She was romantically linked to John Lloyd Cruz later in the same year. Niña V. Guno/JB
