Cartoon characters and real life people hilariously interacted when the American animated sitcom “Family Guy” had two of its stars become audience members in the talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

In the show’s clip, it can be seen that the father-and-son characters of Pete and Stewie Griffin engaged in some banter with Kimmel, as part of his monologue.

Kimmel mentioned “The Simpsons” and how “Family Guy” ought to already be catching up in terms of episode numbers. Stewie retorted by saying that Kimmel was never asked to host the Academy Awards again, like he did last year.

“Ask Seth McFarlane. He literally never, ever hosts back a second time,” Stewie said in reference to the “Family Guy” creator. Correcting him, Kimmel answered that he was actually offered to do the hosting gig again this year.

Other jokes thrown were Pete making fun of Kimmel’s initials JK, and how they loved Kimmel’s previous stint in the Comedy Central show “The Man Show.”

Pete and Stewie’s appearance in the late night show promotes the sitcom’s 300th episode. The sitcom debuted in 1999. JB
