Symbolic gifts for celebrity pals

/ 12:03 AM January 08, 2018

As 2018 beckons, let me make “symbolic” New Year wishes for some of my close friends in the biz. I am forever grateful that I have found true friends in this “unreal world” we move in. Show biz can be cruel at times. And friends like them make all the chaos that comes with the territory worthwhile.

Cesar Montano: An intrigue-proof jacket to shield BFF Buboy from crazy stories concocted about him by people who don’t know him inside out.

Ogie Alcasid: A clone. The biz would be a happier place if there were more genuinely kind people like Ogie.

Alvin Anson: A slow-motion machine, so he can take it easy. He’s working too hard. I would often tease him, “Bestie, how many families are you supporting?”

FEATURED STORIES

Pops Fernandez: A “Mr. Right” decoder, so when “the one” finally comes, she will know exactly how to handle him.

Princess Punzalan: A teleport machine, so she can shuttle back and forth between the US and Manila to reactivate her acting career, then go back to the States to take care of her family.

Aiko Melendez: A guarantee slip for “forever,” so she will love “happily ever after” with her current boyfriend.

Yayo Aguila: A “Mr. Right” detector, so she won’t have heartaches anymore.

Vina Morales

Vina Morales and China Cojuangco: A “time freeze” machine, so their daughters Ceana and Lucia will forever be their little girls.

Leo Valdez: To bottle his joie de vivre for people who need good vibes.

Eugene Domingo: A private jet for Uge and her boyfriend Danilo, so they can keep traveling together.

Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzalez

Aga and Charlene Muhlach: Paintings of them made by famous artists from all over the world, for the art connoisseurs in them.

Arlene Muhlach: To bottle her contagious laughter for people who need cheering up.

Rita Avila: To bottle her sweetness, so it will be available to everybody.

John Estrada: To bottle drops of his “fountain of youth” for men who want to age gracefully.

Medwin Marfil (of True Faith): His own organic vegetable farm for the vegetarian in him.

Ricky Davao: His own acting school, to hone actors the Ricky Davao way.

Bo Cerrudo: A love advice radio show, because he’s a love guru.

Luke Mejares: To bottle his zaniness for people who need to perk up.
