WATCH: Anne Curtis thrust into dangerous drug raid in ‘BuyBust’
In the suspenseful trailer for “BuyBust,” Anne Curtis is a fearless agent who gets involved in a drug raid gone wrong.
The actress is fearless in her first action movie as she goes into the underbelly of Manila where illegal drug trade and deaths are rampant.
The film is trademark Erik Matti (“On the Job,” “Honor Thy Father”), whose forte is depicting the dark realities of Philippine society.
Leading the cast with Curtis is Filipino MMA fighter Brandon Vera. The cast also includes Victor Neri, Nonie Buencamino, Lao Rodriguez and Levi Ignacio.
The film is a passion project of Matti’s and has been nearly two years in the making. “This is the toughest shoot I’ve ever done,” he said in a social media post in November.
Curtis revealed that an entire year was spent on pre-production alone. For her role, she shared on Instagram that she had undergone intense physical training since 2016: “Kali and combat training, gun handling, stunt and fight rehearsals.” /ra
