A new “Star Trek” movie may be in the works with “Kill Bill” director Quentin Tarantino at the helm.

Deadline reports Tarantino shared an idea with previous “Star Trek” director JJ Abrams, and it involves setting up a writers room to develop the movie.

Abrams currently has his hands full preparing for “Star Wars Episode IX”; this means he may end up being a producer instead for Tarantino’s “Star Trek” should the writers come up with something.

FEATURED STORIES

Taking from his past films like the “Kill Bill” series, “Pulp Fiction” and the more recent “Inglorious Basterds”, Tarantino trademarks such as bar scenes and foot fetishes may be difficult to imagine in a “Star Trek” setting.

Tarantino would have to be given ample creative freedom to make his “Star Trek”, and when done, it may be something that contrasts with standards adherent to a franchise like “Star Trek”. In any case, a “Star Trek” movie by Quentin Tarantino may yet be an interesting experience for moviegoers. JB
