Selena Gomez remains ‘best friends’ with ‘The Weeknd’ after breakup

Pop stars Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have reportedly rekindled their romance and are now back in each other’s arms.
Their reunion signaled the end of Gomez’s relationship with another notable artist, Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd.
Fans have continued speculating the real score between the former lovers, with some suggesting an ugly split after the pair unfollowed each other on Instagram.
But in a recent tell-all with Billboard, the 25-year-old Gomez assured fans that it’s all good between her and the “Starboy” singer.
“Something that I’m really proud of is that there’s such a true friendship [between me and The Weeknd],” Gomez said.
”I truly have never experienced anything like that in my life. We ended it as best friends, and it was genuinely about encouraging and caring [for each other], and that was pretty remarkable for me.”
Gomez also revealed that she even kept a memento from their 10-month relationship—an adorable puppy named Charlie.
“It’s actually funny — it was my ex-boyfriend’s [The Weeknd] doing,” Selena described her beloved pup.
“We were walking down the street [in New York], and he saw a cute little puppy in the window and walked in. Charlie was in the corner. He had his head down and he just seemed really sad, and I loved him. I find I do that in every situation in life. I find that person — or dog — and I’m like, ‘Yessss.
