Robin Padilla and Sharon in “Unexpectedly Yours”

Megastar Sharon Cuneta recounts that she had a wonderful time with leading man Robin Padilla and the teen love team of Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia during the filming of their new Star Cinema movie “Unexpectedly Yours,” which opens today.

She recalls that the shoot was “Lovely. Fabulous. Happy and heavenly. Always a pleasure to work with Binoe, my favorite leading man.”

(Their last movie together was “Pagdating ng Panahon.” They also topbilled “Maging Sino Ka Man” in 1991, and “Di Na Natuto” in 1993.)

Robin earlier told the Inquirer that he was equally excited to reunite with Sharon in a movie that fits (and reflects) their current status in life.

“Idol ko si Sharon,” he quipped. “Galak na galak ako na bumalik na siya sa show biz at nakatambal ko pa siya muli (I am so happy that she’s back in show biz and that she’s paired with me).”

During the shoot, Sharon gave a sizable donation to Robin’s pet project for the reconstruction of Marawi City, which was devastated by armed conflict recently.

In the romantic comedy directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, they play former schoolmates who reconnect after years of separation.

She’s now a bona fide JoshLia fan, too. “Julia and Joshua are perfect together. I got kilig (thrilled) so many times on the set just watching them.”

Ah, to be young and in love again!

“It was as if they were in their own world…always nagkukuwentuhan (chatting), laughing, minsan dancing. I fell in love with these two,” she relates.

Most importantly, they are good kids, she asserts. “Their values [are] in the right place. Professional. Magagaling. (They’re good actors.) Kung puwede ko lang ampunin! (If only I can adopt them!)”
