Five Filipino films will be shown at the 3rd All Lights India International Film Festival in Hyderabad, from Dec. 2 to 6.

Jun Robles Lana’s “Die Beautiful” is included in the Must-Watch Movies section, while Louie Ignacio’s “Area” is part of the International Feature Film competition.

A retrospective of Robles’ past works will also be held in Hyderabad: “Bwakaw” (2012), “Barber’s Tales” (2013) and “Anino sa Likod ng Buwan” (2015).

“It’s the first time that I’m presenting all my personal films in one place and I’m excited,” Lana shared with the Inquirer. “I’m very much honored since I’m also part of the jury.”

For his part, Ignacio told the Inquirer: “It’s another blessing and huge challenge for us. It’s tough competing abroad, but when you remember that you’re carrying the country’s flag … win or lose, it’s still a proud moment!”

The All Lights India fest “aims to provide a unique platform for practitioners to showcase excellence in filmmaking and promote cross-cultural awareness” at the same time. —BAYANI SAN DIEGO JR.
