Kevin Spacey apologizes for allegation of sexual advances; comes out as gay

To address the Buzzfeed exposé wherein Academy Award-winner Kevin Spacey has been accused of committing sexual advances on a minor, the actor has spoken about the issue, and at the same time came out as gay.
In a Twitter post, the “House of Cards” star apologized to fellow actor Anthony Rapp over the behavior Spacey displayed to him back in 1986, when both were working as actors in Broadway.
“I honestly do not remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago. But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior, and I am sorry for the feelings he describes having with him all these years,” Spacey said in a statement he posted on Twitter.

He then acknowledged the rumors which have been swirling around his sexuality over the years by finally admitting that he has had relationships with both men and women.
“I had loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I now choose to live as a gay man,” he added.

This comes after Rapp told Buzzfeed about his encounter with Spacey in 1986, when Spacey invited the young actor to his apartment for a party, along with other friends.
On the night of the incident, they both have been left alone in Spacey’s apartment, after everyone has gone home. Rapp recalls Spacey appeared drunk. Later, Spacey picked up Rapp, “like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold,” said Rapp.
Spacey then placed him on the bed and then “landed at a slight angle on top of [Rapp],” the report stated. Rapp said that Spacey was “tightening his arms” and “was pressing into me.”
“In terms of fight or flight or freeze, I tend to freeze,” Rapp told Buzzfeed. According to the report, Spacey was 26 and Rapp was 14 when the incident happened.
“I came forward to my story, standing on the shoulders of the many courageous men and women who have been speaking out to shine a light and hopefully make a difference, as they have done for me,” Rapp said in his Twitter page, in light of his confession of the incident.
