‘Harry Potter’ author J.K. Rowling named Europe’s highest-paid celebrity in 2017

After waiting for nine years for the latest chapter of the “Harry Potter” saga, “Potterheads’” were quick to obtain a copy of  the two-part stage play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” which sold almost 1.3 million copies last year.

The book’s massive popularity boded well financially for J.K. Rowling, as she became the highest-earning author and the highest-paid celebrity in Europe, according to Forbes.

Amassing $95 million over the past 12 months, the 52-year-old British novelist topped the list filled with influential celebrities including the likes of football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo ($93 million), British band Coldplay ($88 million), English singer Adelle ($69 million) and Swiss tennis superstar Roger Federer ($64 million).
