Kaye Abad, Liza Soberano on top of Empoy Marquez’s wish list of leading ladies
At the rate he’s going now, any lady would surely love to work with comedian Empoy Marquez. But just as he’s open to working with anyone, two actresses on top of his wish list areKaye Abad and Liza Soberano.
“Gusto ko po si Kaye Abad and Liza Soberano,” he said at the grand media launch of his latest movie “The Barker (Don’t Know What to Do)” on Friday.
Having done two starring movies now, his blockbuster hit “Kita Kita” and now “The Barker (Don’t Know What to Do), he currently has other projects lined up that should make his status shine brighter.
But even with his chart-topping success, he clarifies he still won’t be too choosy with his projects, although they have to have the right material that should be agreed upon by his team.
“‘Yung words po na mamili po, medyo mahihirapan po ako dyan kasi bago pa lang po ako eh siguro po, igagalang ko na lang po ‘yung pasya ‘nung management at ‘nung manager ko kung sino man po na lumapit sa min na project kung sino man po ‘yung makasama na leading lady po, ganyan po,” he said.
(As for the word “choosy,” I guess I would have a hard time being that because I’m still fairly new. I will just respect whatever is the decision of the management and my manager regarding any project proposed to us and as to whoever leading lady I would be working with.)
But if he were to choose one particular film he wants to do, he wants a remake of the Dolphy classic “Ang Tatay Kong Nanay.”
Directed by Dennis Padilla and produced by Blank Pages Productions and Viva Films, “The Barker (Don’t Know What to Do) is set to hit cinemas nationwide on Oct. 25. /ra
