Troubled actor Baron Geisler expressed happiness over the recent positive development in his career, as the Professional Artist Managers Inc. (PAMI) has lifted its indefinite ban on him to do TV and film projects. The ban specifically stated that he could not accept projects until he was mentally fit and psychologically stable to continue his work as an actor again.

He thanked Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Chair Liza Dińo for intervening with the PAMI to lift the ban.

The news was announced by the actor himself through a Facebook post last Sept. 21. In the post he said, “Maraming salamat sa kai[bigan] kong si FDCP CHAIR Liza Dińo-Seguerra sa pakikipag usap sa PAMI. Ngayon ay na lift na po ang ban sa akin. God bless you kapatid.”

At the time the issue came out, Dińo aired her disgust over the actor’s gesture via Facebook. She told the actor that he had gone “way too far” with his disrespectful attitude. She was also quoted as saying, “Binababoy mo ang integridad ng propesyong nagbibigay ng kabuhayan sa’yo (You are disgracing the integrity of the profession that gives livelihood to you).”

The ban on Geisler stemmed from his controversial peeing on co-actor Ping Medina on the set of the indie movie “Bubog.” Veteran journalist and film director Arlyn dela Cruz was even quoted appealing on Facebook: “To my fellow filmmakers, you may think you need Baron in your movies…but you don’t…you really don’t.”

Recently, Geisler gained praises for his theater debut as Tikbalang/Amerikano in Tanghalang Pilipino’s rock sarswela “Aurelio Sedisyoso.” /ra
