Atom Araullo bids ABS-CBN adieu

Seasoned ABS-CBN reporter/TV host Atom Araullo has officially bid goodbye to his mother network of over a decade.

In a recent Instagram post, Araullo expressed his deep gratitude for the network that made him the journalist that he is today. Yet, having served his time well in media industry, he now wants to venture into new borders by trying out other opportunities that may be available for him outside of the Kapamilya network.

He wrote, “Working with ABS-CBN for over a decade has been an amazing adventure. However, the time has come to explore emerging opportunities and challenges beyond the organization. Although I am taking a new path, I have nothing but respect and gratitude for the company that helped me become the journalist I am today. To all the hardworking men and women of ABS-CBN, maraming maraming salamat.

Araullo has made a name as a broadcast journalist. However last year, Araullo surprised the nation with the announcement of his resignation as a TV Patrol reporter.

It will be remembered that Araullo trended worldwide for his daring coverage of typhoon Yolanda in 2013. He was particularly praised for braving the catastrophic storm. The live video of his coverage showed Araullo reporting from the ground that became a river of flood and debris just an hour after.

Before his professional media career, Araullo had been a part of the kid-oriented show “5 and Up.” /ra
