Andrea Torres shares her biggest love lesson
Andrea Torres and I hit it off instantly when I joined her and my son IC Mendoza for a nightcap at Tipsy Pig at The Fort. Since I refuse to feel or act my age, I always enjoy being around millennials like Andrea so I can imbibe their “cool and chill” vibe.
The sultry Kapuso actress is making waves as one of the leading ladies of Dingdong Dantes in GMA 7’s “Alyas Robin Hood.” I was egging her to join Binibining Pilipinas. She is definitely on her way to becoming the next “it” girl.
Here’s my chat with Andrea:
What’s the biggest love lesson you’ve learned so far? When you are in love, you’re tempted to give as much as you can. You must, however, always withhold some love and respect for yourself, because it’s sometimes difficult to predict the outcome of a romantic relationship. If it goes nowhere, you can always move on and start anew with the love and self-respect you held back.
Would you take an ex back? Although I believe in second chances, a lot depends on the reason why we parted ways. A substantial character flaw may be difficult to overcome. But, a breakup due to a misunderstanding may be easier to overcome. As always, forgiveness is key. If an ex is humble and sincere enough to apologize, I may soften up and may be willing to take him back.
How do you handle bashers? Sometimes, I read their comments because I find some of them entertaining. I don’t take them personally. I can take constructive criticism, which can help me improve my craft.
We can’t please everyone but, at the same time, bashers give us insights into what needs to be improved.
Why did you decide to leave the Triple A management team of Mr. Tony Tuviera? I consulted the people closest to me regarding my decision, but I’d rather keep the reason private. What’s important is that they respected my decision.
Would you transfer to ABS-CBN if you get an offer? I’m happy where I am right now. GMA 7 is like my second home, because this is where I blossomed as an artist. My dedication and loyalty are ways to show my gratitude to GMA 7.
Are you willing to join Binibining Pilipinas? Much as I’d like to, I think I’m no longer qualified because of my age. But seriously, there was a time in my life when joining a beauty pageant crossed my mind, but I didn’t pursue it because I wanted to focus on becoming an actress.
“Fitspirations” Isabelle Daza, Raymond Gutierrez and Yassi Pressman have been tapped as brand ambassadors of flavored electrolyte water G Active, which provides hydration after exercise. Raymond made headlines for his dramatic weight loss, while Belle put up the spinning-class studio, Ride Revolution. As for Pressman, she said that there’s no shortcut to a healthy body. Call them the Trio Bueno on the go.
