WATCH: Kris Aquino shares tips on wearing white like a pro
While white has been relegated to either basic looks or bridal gowns, Kris Aquino shows us in her vlogs “The Kris List” that there’s so much more to be done with the color.
In her two-part “White is Bright Lookbook” series, Kris demonstrated how you can never go wrong with white, whether you want to look casual, impress a date, or mean business.
Cop her always fresh and put-together looks with these tips:
1. You can (almost) never go wrong with white.

Wear white because you want to: the media queen is now taking advantage of this after she has been discouraged from wearing white tops for the longest time, since it would look too bright with her glowing white skin in front of the TV camera. But now that she’s the one running the show, she wears the color whenever she pleases.
2. For versatility in one piece, use a multi-way top.
Kris swears by this Alexander McQueen piece which she describes as a multi-way top. With several buttons, your look can go anywhere from covered up to an off-the-shoulder look—and no one would know if you repeated your top!

3. Go beyond the basics.
White is more than just a t-shirt. Cutouts, a ruche finish, and a scarf can add “drama” to your outfit.

Add flair to a typical crisp white polo by changing how it’s folded and taping parts of it to your skin to hold it together:

4. It’s all about the fit.

Know what works with your body type. Kris goes for body-hugging looks or high-waisted skirts and pants to accentuate her small 26-inch waistline (yes, Tita Kris is 26 inches at 46 years old) and full hips.
The mom of two swears by international luxury brands J brand and FRAME for bottoms that fit her best.
5. Keep your look clean by steering clear of VPL.

The VPL (visible panty line) can break your clean, all-white look. Kris recommends Uniqlo’s seamless underwear to make your OOTDs look flawless.
6. For tops, go with fast fashion.

Besides her media appearances, Kris is also an entrepreneur and has worked hard to build her brand. While she can afford to splurge on luxury designs, she says fast fashion brands are fine for tops since you’ll be changing them over the years.
7. Keep your whites as bright as possible.

What’s the point of wearing white if it isn’t, well, white? Wash whites separately from colors and maongs to keep them looking fresh and stain-free.
8. Pump up your white top with the right shoes.

The great thing about white is it could go with anything. If you want to stand out, mules, gold and silver shoes, and block heels are some of the many options that Kris recommends can add sparkle or spunk to your outfit.
