Sharon, Gabby’s daughter together at Cinemalaya

“No intrigues; just love, OK?”

This was what Megastar Sharon Cuneta told the Inquirer before agreeing to pose for a photo with Garrie Concepcion at the media gathering on Thursday afternoon for the 2017 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in Pasay City.

Garrie, the daughter of Sharon’s former husband, Gabby (with Grace Ibuna), is a cast member of the Cinemalaya entry “Ang Guro Kong ’Di Marunong Magbasa,” while Sharon is the lead star of “Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha.”

“I honestly didn’t expect to see Tita Sharon here. I feel overwhelmed! I kept thinking that we’re part of the same film festival and that I’m in one venue with her now,” said Garrie, whose mannerisms and way of talking remind us of her half-sister, actress KC Concepcion.

“We’ve already met before. I’m open to working with Tita Sharon someday. That is, if she is also willing [to work with me],” she added. —MARINEL R. CRUZ
