Despite having done movies and a soap opera, Maine Mendoza still describes herself as a “reluctant actress,” who still feels unsure about the idea of growing old in show biz.

“I haven’t planned that far ahead yet. If I stay longer, good. If not, that would also be fine with me,” she told the press in an interview for CDO Funtastyk Young Pork Tocino, which she endorses.

That’s why she’s thankful that her management gives her schedule enough breathing room, so she could still spend quality time with her loved ones.

“Sometimes, you look for the kind of life you were used to. But now I’m here, and it’s a new experience,” she said, adding that her second year in the industry has been more relaxed than the first. “My management knows that I have to spend time with my family and friends at least once a week.”

And so far, Maine already feels “fulfilled” with what she has achieved: “I’m thankful for all the experiences I have had, and the dreams I’ve realized. If, one day, all these get taken away from me, that’s all right—I’m not too afraid.”—ALLAN POLICARPIO
