Kiko Matos on working with Sharon Cuneta: ‘It’s an achievement off my bucket list’
Indie actor Kiko Matos expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with veteran actress Sharon Cuneta.
Besides being a fitness buff, the controversial actor is also a cast member of the Cinemalaya 2017 official entry “Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha”, top-billed by the Megastar.
“Working with the Megastar was really light kasi si Mega, machika siya eh, hindi rin siya mahirap kausapin (She’s speaks to us, she’s not hard to talk to). It was also a dream come true because lahat naman tayo napapanood siya habang lumalaki (we all grew up watching her), it was also one achievement out of my bucket list to work with the Megastar,” he said at the press conference of the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) earlier today.
Despite preparing for an upcoming fight with the URCC on August 12 at the Araneta Colisuem, the actor cleared that he will surely strike a balance between his showbiz engagements and his trainings for the fight.
“Sa akin naman po kasi (Well, to me) there will be time for shoots. ‘Pag wala na akong ginagawa, doon na ako sa (If I’m not doing anything, I do my) training, dere-deretso na ako mag-training (I train continuously). Ang shooting ko lang naman (My shoot schedule) is twice a week or once a week and then full-on training,” he explained
Matos shared details about his role: “Ang title ng pelikula ay (The title of the movie is) ‘Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha’. Ako ang anak na lalaki ng pamilyang hindi lumuluha (I am the son in the family that does not cry).”
Matos became a household name after his altercation with equally controversial actor Baron Geisler. Their feud ended in a highly publicized cage fight under the URCC last June 25, 2016 at the Valkyrie. As days went nearer to their face off, Matos had to endure overwhelming bashings on social media for striking Geisler. The whole action was caught on video that immediately went viral.
At the press conference for the upcoming August 12 fight night earlier today, Geisler showed up and provoked Matos once again, causing Matos to bring Geisler down by choking him. People interfered and separated the two. JB
