“Jagged Little Pill,” the seminal, 1995 record by Alanis Morissette, will be adapted into a musical, and is set to open in May 2018, as part of the coming season of the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The play will feature songs penned by the Canadian-American artist herself, with a book by Diablo Cody—the Oscar-winning screenwriter of the 2007 film, “Juno.”
Meanwhile, Tony winner Diane Paulus, who also helmed “Waitress” by Sara Bareilles, will be the artistic director.

The musical will reportedly feature some of the album’s most popular songs, like “You Oughta Know” and “Ironic.”

“The team that has come together for this musical is my… theater dream come true,” Alanis said in a statement. “The chemistry between all of us is crackling, and I feel honored to be diving into these songs again, surrounded by all these searing talent.” —ALLAN POLICARPIO
