Eminem, whose rapping legacy manifests in his awards and groundbreaking hits, confessed that Jim Carrey was his inspiration in recording his 2002 album “The Eminem Show.”

In an Instagram post promoting his album’s 15th-anniversary re-release on Wednesday, Eminem (Marshall Mathers) revealed that the actor-comedian “basically wrote” the album and cited Carey’s drama flick “The Truman Show,” which was about a man whose life was unsuspiciously streamed in a reality show for decades.

“The concept for ‘The Eminem Show’ was inspired by ‘The Truman Show’ because my life felt like it was becoming a circus at that time and I felt like I was always being watched,” Eminem’s handwritten letter read. “Basically, Jim Carrey wrote my album.”

“The Eminem Show” became one of Eminem’s greatest albums, winning the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album in 2003 and selling over 30 million copies. The album included monumental songs such as “Sing for the Moment,” “Superman,” “Till I Collapse,” “Cleaning Out My Closet” and “Without Me.”

In a tweet last week, Eminem, 44, enticed fans to donate for the victims of the recent Manchester bombing, which killed 22 teenagers who attended Ariana Grande’s gig in the area.  Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
