Dennis Trillo turned a year cooler last May 12. What better way to celebrate his birthday month than to revisit and return as Gabriel in GMA 7’s “Mulawin vs Ravena”—the sequel to the well-loved telefantasya, “Mulawin,” which premiered yesterday.

Dennis continues to soar just as “Mulawin” takes flight again.

FEATURED STORIES

What excites you about the sequel? The fact that “Mulawin” is back again after 12 years, the stellar cast I work with, and the series’ great story. Reading the script gave me goose bumps. The turnaround of the story is very engaging.
What’s your fondest “Mulawin” memory? It was one of my first shows on GMA 7, so the whole experience was memorable. It was also the first time I wore a costume and contact lens. I had a hard time getting used to both. Working with Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez was an honor.

Tell us the latest about your son, Calix. He will be in Grade 5 this school year, and he’s turning 10. Calix is into soccer, but he’s also musically inclined; he’s a member of the school choir and loves playing the drums. It’s amazing to see that he has the same interests as I do.

In what way is your love life better this time around? It’s happier because it’s on a more mature level. Jennylyn (Mercado) and I are more open about it, and we don’t care what other people say. But, as much as possible, we keep it private.

How would you know when it’s time to settle down? When the right time comes, you’d feel it. Your heart will tell you so.

What are your unfulfilled dreams? I want to dabble into filmmaking and produce quality films.

If you could be 20 again, what would you do differently? Nothing, because if I did something differently, I wouldn’t be where I am now.

What’s one question about life or love that you have not found the answer to? At this point in my life, I’m happy and satisfied, so there’s no room for questions. I embrace everything that life and love have brought my way.

What’s one trait of yours that you want to change? I’m too soft-hearted.

If your life story were made into a movie, what would the title be? “Life is Good.”
